Artistic Statement
My storytelling vision is to directly depict life from the perspective of native Washingtonians. Audiences are often introduced to D.C. through high-stakes political dramas, but rarely do the men, women, and children who move and shape the city get to accurately see themselves on the big screen. I am most interested in telling the stories of complicated women; women whose multiple layers allow them to radiate an authenticity that engages a universal audience. I create a visual style that is as simple as it is captivating. Characters are dropped in urban landscapes that serve as silent co-stars, and music is used to feed and elevate each scene.
I am hoping to reach a universal audience of women who consume simple love stories, complex narratives, and dramas that focus on the journey of womanhood.
